Kathy Oxborrow

Helping people and organizations thrive has defined my career. I have an eclectic background that enhances my ability to get results for clients. I’ve staffed political campaigns, produced television programs, designed and delivered training programs, raised millions for nonprofit organizations and been the executive director of a community mediation center.

As a television producer, I worked for both the NBC and ABC affiliates in Portland, Oregon producing public affairs programs. I started television coverage of the Portland City Council meetings and several of my programs were nominated for national awards.

At San Francisco State University I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude, in Urban Studies and did graduate work in Broadcast Communications. I received training in meeting facilitation and group process at Willamette University Center for Dispute Resolution and mediation training that meets the Oregon Office of Community Dispute Resolution’s requirements.

Whether it’s for a newspaper article or a research project, I love meeting and interviewing people. My curious nature and genuine interest in the person and topic always result in incisive observations, pertinent research findings and interesting articles.

I believe strongly in civic and community service and recently completed a community leadership development program sponsored by the Ford Family Foundation. I’ve served on the boards of directors of many organizations including the City Club of Portland and Planned Parenthood of the Columbia Willamette. As a volunteer, I mediated restitution agreements between juvenile offenders and their victims.
